Administration announces week-early end to senior year

May 3, 2018

During a senior meeting held on May 3, Mr. Doug Bullinger, Principal, announced that the last day of school for the class of 2018 will be June 1.

Traditionally, seniors attended school through the final Thursday, June 7 this year, with the rest of HHS. However, other schools in the area and throughout the nation typically release seniors a week early, and this year HHS has decided to do the same.

On June 1, seniors will be dismissed from their first block class to the auditorium. There, they will receive information about graduation, and senior superlatives will be awarded. Afterward, students will receive their gowns and board busses to their respective elementary schools for a “parade of graduates.”

Upon return to HHS, seniors will be directed to the stadium for lunch, yearbook distribution, yard games, and pictures. Principal Bullinger hinted that there will be another surprise for seniors waiting at the stadium but no one knows what it will be yet.

The shortened week was first rumored over a month ago, however no teachers or administration members would confirm. Though many seniors had accepted their final day at HHS would be June 1, Bullinger’s announcement was met with whooping applause from the class of 2018.
