Sally Reed, Vice President candidate
Why did you decide to run for Vice President of HHS Student Council?
I’m running for VP because I really hope to unite the school and build a sense of community in the student body. I want to be a good leader and a good advocate for the student voice.
What is one specific initiative that you want to bring up and have student council work on next year?
I think definitely building more community events such as volunteering. ALso lowering or eliminating the cost of student games so we can build that sense of school spirit.
How do you feel about the election being open to the entire HHS student body?
I think it’s awesome. I think it gives a lot more opportunity for students to choose who they want to advocate for them and speak for them. I think it’s a great step.
How are you going to work to make student council more transparent in the future?
I think letting everyone know that our meetings are open and that everyone can come in. Also building our website and communication with the student.
What is something that you think student council as a whole can improve on?
I think we can definitely improve on our communication with the rest of the school Though we have a lot of plans within student council I think getting the discussion moving within the whole student body rather than just us making decisions.
