HURT takes first place in Grey Duck Invitational
Feb 9, 2018
The Hopkins Hurt team is off to a great start to the 2018 season. The team competed in the Grey Duck Invitational Feb. 3rd, and took home the hardware, walking away with the first place trophy.
Although Edina won state last year, HURT looks to have the upper edge this season.
“It was a great way to start the season. We beat Edina and Great River which is probably our biggest rival and biggest threat to win state this year,” said Sam Patel, junior.
After winning this tournament, HURT has been granted an invitation to scrimmage the University of Minnesota ultimate team, the Grey Ducks at TCF Bank Stadium.
“I am super excited to scrimmage U of M because it is going to show us how good we really are and how we match up against a good college team,” said Asher Kahn, junior.
HURT will look to have another tournament win in just a few weeks as they will be competing in the Saint John’s invitational.
“I am excited for the Saint John’s tournament. We are coming off a big win so we will look to carry the momentum throughout the next few tournaments,” said Noah Zaroff, junior.
HURT will look for two wins in a row as they compete Feb. 17-18th.
