Friday Fun: Sever’s Fall Festival

Oct 13, 2017

It’s that time of the year again; the leaves are changing and the temperature is dropping.

Minnesotans, you know what that means- fall fun at Sever’s Fall Festival. With attractions like a gigantic corn pit, pig races, and zip lines, there is something for everyone at Sever’s. It is located in Shakopee, right next to Canterbury Park and you can’t miss it- it’s the place with all of the pumpkins.

Personally, I think the best part of Sever’s Fall Festival is that there are so many choices, which makes it a great place to go with your family or friends.

One of their biggest, most popular attractions is their seasonal corn maze, which changes themes with each new year. This year’s theme is “Sever’s Down Under,” which is an Australian themed maze.

Described on Sever’s website, the maze challenge this year will, “have you looking for six pictures of ‘Sever Dundee’ while reading fun facts about this year’s maze theme on the 26 signs labeled A to Z throughout the maze.”

In addition to a corn field, the festival also includes a pumpkin patch with every type of pumpkin that you could ever want. There are ordinary pumpkins, specialty pumpkins, Pik-a-Pie pumpkins, and mini pumpkins- oh my! With all of these options, it surely will be hard to choose your favorite.

In addition to all of these seasonal activities, Sever’s also includes an obstacle course as well as a spider web to climb on. These attractions would be great for anyone who has done outdoor adventures here at HHS, as they would be an expert at maneuvering these courses.

Overall, in my opinion, Sever’s is a great place to celebrate the season. If you could visit only one place this year for fall fun, I would highly recommend coming here.

Sever’s season ends October 29th, so get there fast. They are open Fridays 1pm-8pm, Saturdays 10am-8pm, and Sundays 10am-6pm, but the ticket gate closes 1.5 hours prior to closing. Tickets are sold for $15 and can be bought online on their website- seversfallfestival.com.
