Volleyball looks to fly past Orioles
Oct 10, 2017
The Royals volleyball team is looking to fly by the St. Louis Park Orioles tonight, at 7 p.m. at St. Louis Park High School.
The Orioles have a current record of 10-8, while the Royals are sitting with a few less losses, with a current record of 10-4.
The Royals are also coming off a big win against the Minnetonka Skippers last Wednesday, and a second place finish at a tournament that took place at St. Thomas University this past weekend. At the tournament, the Royals won five games and lost one.
With momentum coming off the recent success, the Royals are looking to play strong at the net front, and have good, consistent competition from the get-go. The Royals offense has been consistently using a bump-set-spike, generally from a player in the back, to Tara Lee, senior, and then to Anna Erickson, junior, for the kill.
The Royals have been utilizing their speed and height on defense, and net front presence from sisters Nyakim Tut, junior, and Churidar Tut, sophomore.
The Royals are a still growing and developing team with seven of their eleven varsity players returning, and are working consistently to improve on both sides of the ball. Tonight’s game against the Orioles will be key for the Royals as they look to continue their winning streak in order to gain momentum for the post-season.
