This Friday night, the Hopkins Royals girls basketball team will travel to Wayzata High School to take on the Wayzata Trojans in a matchup that could be the second chapter in a trilogy that concludes at the Section 6AAAA championship.

The Royals are on a three game win streak after winning their last two games, one against the Minnetonka Skippers on Jan. 18, and Totino-Grace on Jan. 21.
The Royals 12 game win streak was broken on Jan. 11, by the Edina Hornets. The Royals put up a great fight but finished on the bottom, taking a one point loss on the first day of a back to back.
The Royals boys basketball team has continued their dominance through the end of 2018 and look to feed off that momentum into 2019. The first matchup for the Royals this year was at Annandale, and took a commanding 53 point victory over the Cardinals on Jan. 8.
This Friday and Saturday the Royals play in an invitational tournament at Minneapolis North. They play two teams from Chicago, Orr Academy and Michele Clark Prep.
The Royals continue their win streak with a 14 point victory against the Madison La Follette Lancers. The Royals took a commanding W at home against Robbinsdale Cooper earlier last week and hoped to take that momentum into this game against the visiting Lancers.
This game was absolute domination from the first second. The Royals took on the Robbinsdale Cooper Hawks at home on Dec. 13. Going into this game, the Royals were coming off of a seven point defeat against Minnehaha, which was their third straight victory.
