Perfection. Achieved.After a trio of runner-up finishes, the Hopkins Royals finally break through the glass ceiling and capture the Class 4A state title with a dominant 74-45 victory over the two-seeded Stillwater Ponies.

Just when you thought Hopkins girls basketball team couldn’t get more dominant, the Royals put on a clinic against the fourth-seeded Centennial Cougars and advance to their fifth straight Class 4A state tournament final by a score of 75-51.

Hopkins plays their first section playoff game tonight, against the Saint Louis Park Orioles. It is the section semifinal, and the Royals had a by for the first game. After finishing the regular season with an away loss to Eden Prairie, the Royals look to learn from that loss and defeat the Orioles.

The Hopkins Royals girls basketball team finish their season undefeated by beating the Wayzata Trojans by a score of 77-60 to win Section 6AAAA and secure a berth in the Class AAAA state tournament.
The Royals huddled around recapping their performance after falling to the Lightning in the State Championship. The final score was 63-68.

In his third season with the Minnesota Gopher, Hopkins High School Alum, Amir Coffey, is leading the Gophers through the regular season and in the late push for the NCAA tournament.

After statement win against Wayzata, boys basketball travels to Eden Prairie for regular season finale

The Royals took on the Wayzata Trojans on Feb. 22.  Hopkins hosted the Trojans earlier this season and defeated them 90-80.
