Multi-sport athlete Abby Martin, junior, is looking to improve friendships and team community while leading the Royals to some big wins this season. Martin has been playing lacrosse since eighth grade, at the age of 14. Martin started lacrosse much later than most, but has previous sports experience from soccer which she is still currently playing, being voted captain for the girls team this upcoming 2017 fall season.

Max Burke, junior, is a lacrosse player with a bright future. Burke is quite new to lacrosse but in his first couple experiences, he’s really enjoyed it.

MacKenzie Merritt, senior, a passionate and very decorated athlete will be returning in her senior year as a captain, and is looking to lead the Royals back to the state tournament appearances. Merritt started playing softball when she was just eight years old.

If not for a weekday run to Target, Annika Patterson, junior, would not have gotten involved in track. “I ran into captain Katie Donovan last year at Target, and I was maybe going to do lacrosse last season, but I ended up running track,” Patterson said. “I was more afraid that I wasn’t going to be good but [Donovan] encouraged me to sign up.”
