After over 10 years of playing organized soccer, Sam Segelbaum, senior, has become the starting kicker for the HHS Varsity football team. Segelbaum decided to make the switch to football because he would have played for the junior varsity soccer team this year.
Mats Hansen, junior, is a player on the HURT (Hopkins Ultimate Recreation Team) team.
This season Hansen got the call up from the Junior Varsity team to the Varsity team. He plays the position of cutter which is someone who runs out for long throws and mostly catches the frisbee.
Troy Schroers, junior, is a new addition to the varsity Trap Team, it’s always a great thing for a student to make varsity for their sport, but for Schroers it was a great honor.
Bobby Wilson, senior, is a two-sport varsity athlete at HHS. He plays goalie for the Royals hockey team and plays third base and is also the captain for the baseball team.
Earlier this school year he finished his fourth and final season for the Royals hockey team and is now getting ready to start his final season for baseball.
Parker Stoddard, junior, is a captain for the 2018 season for the Hopkins Royals softball team. The girls softball team is a very talented team that won sections last year and will look to repeat that achievement this season.
