Preview: Royals Football clash with Apple Valley in 2019 season opener

Though the school year is still about a week away from starting at Hopkins High School, the Royals football team will kick off the 2019 season Thursday night on the road against the Apple Valley Eagles.

Softball has strong showing in opening round of section tournament

Last night at Edina’s Pamela Park the third seeded HHS softball team defeated the sixth seeded Armstrong High School team by a score of 10-0.
The Royals in their pregame huddle before their game against Edina this year. The Royals take on the Trojans tonight at 6:30 pm.

The Royals have been rising to the occasion all year. Hopkins is currently ranked ninth in the state which is the same position they were at in the preseason rankings from GAMEBREAKER.

With a strong showing from seniors Joe Fahnbulleh, Eli Hoeft, and sophomore George Jackson, the Royals became the first wild card state qualifier to win the whole thing.

On Oct. 23, 2015, team owners announced that MN United would construct a stadium on the 35-acre Saint Paul site. After over 20 months of work, the team unveiled the Loon’s $250 million privately financed new home, Allianz Field.
