The Hopkins Football team is looking to make a push at 3-4, traveling to Forest Lake this friday night. The Royals have dropped their last 2 games, falling to St. Thomas Academy, as well as Chanhassen.
Three overtime matchups, three last-second wins, and a multitude of standout performances made NFL’s fourth week one of the most interesting slate of games in recent memory. The bouts also gave insight as to who were credible playoff contenders and who were mere flukes over the previous three weeks.

Last Friday, September 14th, the Royals football team hosted Armstrong to face the Falcons in their third game of the season. The Royals fell to the Falcons 41-37. Coming into the game at 1-1, the Royals have been struggling to stop the run game, and it didn’t get much better against the Falcons.
Anna Erickson, senior, is a varsity outside hitter on the HHS volleyball team. In addition to being a captain for two years, Erickson has been a member of the HHS team since seventh grade, joining the varsity team freshman year.
With a team poised for success this season, Mary Murphy, junior, knows that she has to give it her all this season while keeping chemistry with her doubles partner.
The Hopkins Royals football team is coming back to their home turf this Friday night, looking to gain back the momentum they lost last week at Waconia, getting handed a tough 35-15 loss.
Despite being the smallest school in the Lake Conference, and having a football team that went 1-7 last year, the Hopkins High Football team was host to a D1 football school, the Fresno State Bulldogs.
After over 10 years of playing organized soccer, Sam Segelbaum, senior, has become the starting kicker for the HHS Varsity football team. Segelbaum decided to make the switch to football because he would have played for the junior varsity soccer team this year.
