In game two, the Royals blew a 3-1 lead and lost in extra innings by a score of 6-4, sending the Buffalo Bison to their first-ever state tournament appearance.
Tonight, the Royals will face second-seeded Buffalo, a team with a 17-5 overall record, at 5 p.m. at Miller Park in Eden Prairie. If the Royals beat the Bison at 5, they will face off again at 7 p.m.
After losing the first four games of the season, the Royals softball team turned the season around and has received the top seed in the section 6AAA tournament.
On Monday, May 11, the Royals softball team faced off against the Edina Hornets. With a win over the Hornets, the Royals would win the Lake Conference title.
