Hopkins baseball star Hurth commits to Indiana State

As the college signing season has come and gone, Hopkins baseball has yet another Division 1 baseball talent. Joey Hurth, senior, has committed to play baseball at Indiana State University.

It was just a year ago when Hopkins High School unveiled the brand new turf baseball field and ever since that moment, it has served multiple teams, not just the Royals.

Wyatt Nelson commits to North Dakota State

With the signing period starting in the beginning of November, pitcher, Wyatt Nelson, senior, has committed to NDSU to continue his baseball career. Nelson was being recruited to seven different Division 1 colleges but only received scholarship offers from North Dakota State University (NDSU), South Dakota State University (SDSU), and University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

Today the Royals start their postseason run to the state tournament against Southwest at 4:30 at the new turf field. The Royals finished up the season with a 10-10 record, but lost six of their last seven games. The Royals have yet to face Southwest this year, however, Southwest will be without their ace pitcher as he pitched a complete game last night against St. Louis Park in their 4-2 win.
