After coming off a tough loss to the Eden Prairie Eagles last week, the Hopkins Royals look to bounce back, and beat the Edina Hornets tonight. Tonight is the homecoming game for the Royals, and no day would be better to bring home a win than tonight.

Both the Royals and the Hornets are currently 0-1 in Lake Conference play this season with losses against EP.

Tyler Schebloom, senior, looks to help lead the younger kids on the football team, to a win on homecoming night.

“As a senior, I’ll do my best to take leadership and make sure that myself and others around me are prepared for tonight’s game,” Schebloom said.

The team has been preparing this week both on and off the field for tonight’s game, whether it be running drills, or watching film on last weeks game.

Sam Oxford, senior, is one of the defensive captains on the Royals. Along with the other seniors on the team, Oxford looks to his leadership to lead to Royals to a win in tonight’s game.

“We think we will win if our defense can get off the field in a low number of plays, and if our offense doesn’t have a slow start,” Oxford said. “[Edina] have a good QB, but we believe we can contain him in tonight’s game.”

The Royals are set to play tonight at 6 at the Hopkins High School Stadium.
