The Royals boys soccer team won a big Lake conference matchup last night, beating the #10 ranked Eden Prairie Eagles by a score of 3-2.

The game started off slow with both teams being scoreless at halftime, before the Royals put up three goals and the Eagles put up two goals in the second half.

The scoring from the Royals came from one player only, Clarence Weah, freshman, who had a hat-trick in the victory.

The Royals were aware that their abilities would be tested in the tough matchup with the Eagles.

“We went into the game knowing EP had a very solid team. Our attack got after them early and often, and our defense and I shut them down their top forwards,” said Ryan St. Clair, senior. “It was one of our best performances of the season.”

The Royals will be back in action again Thurs., Sept. 22, when they will travel to Minnetonka to play another Lake Conference rival.  After that matchup, the Royals will play again on Sat., Sept. 24 in Minneapolis, when the Royals take on the Millers from Minneapolis Washburn.
