Royals trump Jaguars in section semi-finals

Last night, the Royals volleyball team beat the Bloomington Jefferson Jaguars in their semi-final section game.

The first game began with a strong lead from the Jaguars 7-1. The Royals fought as hard as they tried to catch up, but the Jaguars kept the lead. Mid-game the Royals stayed behind with the Jaguars leading 21-17. The Jaguars took the set 25-20.

At the beginning of the second set, the Royals took the lead 5-0. The lead continued with the Jaguars trailing closely behind 15-12. The Jaguars fought back, but they couldn’t follow through, ending with a win for the Royals 25-18.

The third game began with another lead from the Royals 6-2. The Jaguars trailed closely behind towards the end of the game but couldn’t execute in time. The Royals took the second set 25-22.

The last game began with the Royals far ahead 8-1. The Jaguars defense faltered, and the Royals took off with a far lead 20-12. The Royals took the game 25-15, ending the match and moving them forward in the section finals.

The Royals have their section-final game this Saturday against the Washburn Millers at St. Louis Park High School 12:00 pm.
