Girls basketball faces Minnetonka in regular season finale

On Friday Feb. 27, the girls basketball team will tip off against the Minnetonka Skippers (20-4)  in the regular season finale. The Skippers are averaging roughly 64.4 points per game and have a Lake Conference record of 5-2 with losses against the Royals and Eden Prairie.

On the other hand, The Royals are 23-1 overall and have a 7-0  record in Lake Conference play. The girls also average 76.3 points per contest.

In the Royals last game on Feb. 24, the Royals took down the Wayzata Trojans to solidify the Lake Conference Championship.

Both teams have some players to look out for in the game. Nia Hollie, junior, has lead the team in both points per game and assists per game this season. Another power player for the Royals is T.T. Starks, senior. Starks is committed to Iowa State.

Courtney Frederickson, junior, is leading the Skippers with 16.0 points per game. Another player to be on the lookout for the Skippers is senior, Caroline Shelquist. Shelquist, is the second best scorer on the Skippers’, averaging 11.0 PPG.
