The boys soccer season came to an end on Thursday night due to a 1-0 loss to Minneapolis South High School.

The boys came into the match as heavy favorites being ranked second in the section and finishing the regular season with a record of 8-5-3. Minneapolis South, meanwhile, finished with a record of 4-7-1 and came into the game ranked as the seventh seed in the section.

The game was neck and neck throughout regulation time and ended with both teams scoreless, but South sealed a victory with a late goal in the second half of overtime.

The Royals had a successful season that included three ties to conference foes Eden Prairie, Edina, and Wayzata. Led by young talent, the team will return five starters and will look to rebound next season.
