On Friday, Sept. 12, the Royals traveled out to Kingsford, Michigan and beat the host team 26 to 17.

“We put up a pretty big fight but, coach thought we should have beaten Kingsford by more,” said Peter Williams, senior.

The Royals didn’t put away the game until Kevion McDonald, senior, intercepted a Kingsford pass that led to Tyler Lee, senior, touchdown pass to Taj Winston, senior.

“The Michigan trip was great for our team. It’s always cool to play in another state to represent Minn. It was a good win even though we did not play to our full potential,” said Kyle Johnson, senior.

The Royals look forward to a good week of practice in preparation for Homecoming.

“This week we need to work on being super aggressive and physical. That would be key to winning the homecoming game on Friday,” said Joey Mydra, senior.

“We are a really good team this year, and I am confident in my guys that we can pull out another win against Tonka and make our school proud,” Johnson said.

The 2-2 Royals will face the 3-1 Minnetonka Skippers this Friday for the homecoming game.
