On Friday May, 12, the Honors Biology students finished off the difficult pig dissection unit by taking an anatomy of the Fetal pig exam.

The Pig dissection unit lasted 12 days including a day for the final test, which was the perfect amount of time to examine the whole fetal pig.

“I thought that the pig dissection was a great way to learn anatomy but only a small percentage of the kids were actually hands on learning the rest of the students seemed like they weren’t as engaged,” said Dane Zimmer, Sophomore.

The pig dissection unit got mixed emotions from the students.  The students that participated everyday felt that the test wasn’t very hard but the students that goofed off during dissection.

“For the most part I was on task during dissection and I helped my group so the test wasn’t much of a problem for me. Some of my friends that didn’t do any dissection struggled with the test which makes sense,” said Seth Schricker, Sophomore.

The final pig exam had 39 multiple choice questions, each question had five to ten answers to chose from. The average score for the exam was 32 out of 39 which is 82 percent.

“Most of the Students seemed to find the test to be most, enjoyable” said Mike Harris, Honors Biology.
